Decorating pirate hats

You can offer this file freely during corner play or as a guided activity. Let the preschoolers choose a pirate hat color and also the assignment card of their color. There are mission cards of a pattern sequence 2,3 or 4 in level. Place the assignment card next to your pirate hat and start decorating! Allow the toddlers freedom in forming their patterns while decorating. Or let them make their own creation with loose-parts in various colors without using an assignment card.

You can also use this as a game or guided activity. Add a color die and have them copy their pattern onto the hat by rolling the dice and finding and placing that color. You decide to take 1 or more stones. Make it a competition and add a bell. Whoever has decorated the hat completely the same first presses the bell! This file can therefore be used in many different ways. To decorate, you can use stacking caps, deco diamonds or other concrete materials.
