Maxi Autumn Friends Race

Before the game can start, attach the 2 parts of the game board together. Shuffle the autumn cards and make a face-down pile. This game can be played with 2-5 players. Each player chooses a pawn (e.g.: autumn animal figures made of plastic or wood). All pawns start on the image of their matching animal on the game board. You can offer this race in 3 different ways to differentiate.

Game mode 1, Word parts: Each player takes turns drawing one card from the pile and lays it open. Which autumn object or animal is on it? Clap and break this word into word parts / syllables. How many parts do you hear in the word (without article)? You may move your pawn forward that many spaces on the game board. Continue until someone reaches the end first. Frog wants to go to the lily pad, squirrel to the acorn, hedgehog to the apple, snail to the leaf, and spider to the spider web.

Game mode 2, Spin the color: Each turn, one player may spin the C-spinner. Which color do we see? Only the player with the animal that matches that color may move one step forward.

Game mode 3, Spin the animal: Each turn, one player may spin the C-spinner. Which autumn friend do we see? Only the player with the same animal as a pawn may move one step forward.

TIP

You can also add a die to game modes 2 and 3. Then the number of steps forward is also determined and you add a counting exercise.

Level

Game mode 1, the oldest preschoolers is our recommendation! Game modes 2 and 3, the youngest preschoolers is our recommendation! Depending on your class group, you decide whether this bundle is feasible or not.
