Highest Throw: Forest Dwellers

This game can be played with 2 players or with 4 to 6 players. This dice card game can be played in 2 different ways. Roll the highest card in pairs. Or in a group, who rolls the highest dice roll closest to the number on the forest dwellers pile card.

Version 1: The highest roll with cards. Play with 2 players, divide the cards into 2 piles and place your pile face down on the table. Each player simultaneously flips their top card face up onto a separate discard pile. Look carefully and count the forest dwellers on the log. Who has the pile with the most forest dwellers? The leaves, border line, numbers, and counts serve as aids. The player with the highest card may keep this card as a point or use materials as point counters (e.g., pom-poms, leaves, chestnuts, acorns, stacking caps, etc.). Continue until all cards from one pile have been played.

Version 2: The highest dice roll. Play with 4 to 6 players, shuffle the cards and make 1 large face-down pile on the table. Each player gets a die. Each round, flip the top card of the pile face up. All players roll the dice once simultaneously. Look and count, who has the highest roll? Who rolled the same number as the number of forest dwellers on the log? The player with the matching roll may keep the card from the pile. If no one has the same roll, the card goes back to the bottom of the pile. If multiple players have the same roll, play a separate dice duel between those players. This decides who gets to keep the card as a point. The highest roll wins. Each round, flip a new card face up. Continue until all cards are gone from the pile. Who has collected the most points?
