Firefighter Heroes

This game can be played with 2-4 players. Before the game starts, shuffle the firefighter cards well. Place them in a large circle on the table, with the picture of the title card facing up. Make a face-down stack of the combination cards and place this stack in the middle of the circle along with a toy fire extinguisher. The first player may turn over the top card of the stack. Each player, in turn, may flip over one card from the circle during this round. Everyone looks at the firefighters and their features: color of the firefighter helmet, color of the firefighter suit, skin color, and firefighter attribute. Does this firefighter match the combination card that is face up? If yes, quickly grab the fire extinguisher! If you are the fastest to grab the fire extinguisher, you get to keep the combination card (worth 1 point). Place the fire extinguisher back! The found firefighter remains face up in the circle. If the firefighter does not match the card, your turn ends. Turn the round firefighter card back over. The card on the stack remains face up during this round. If the correct firefighter is not found during the round, the combination card goes back to the bottom of the stack. Continue until you have found all the firefighter heroes. The player who has collected the most cards and thus the most points is the winner!

Tip

You can replace the fire extinguisher with another themed object or omit it and simply play as a memory game searching for all matching firefighters. As a variation, you can use fewer cards and place them on a grid board within fixed squares. Visually, this can be a spatial aid for the youngest preschoolers.
