The Number Cards

You can offer these number cards as enrichment in the mathematics or writing corner. The toddlers can go over the (laminated) number cards with a whiteboard marker to get to know the writing and shape of the number. They also learn to associate the number image with the correct quantity by counting the balls or the number of fingers on the hand. You can also offer the cards with a writing sandbox, magnetic number construction or chalkboard. You can use the large blank filler numbers when learning a new number. Have the preschoolers fill the figure with loose parts or materials in the appropriate quantities. Or let them stamp, paint, sprinkle or fill the shape of the number with any material. The purposes for these figure contour maps are endless. The smaller number cards also have several possible ways to use them in the classroom. You can even create a number wall with it.
