Ballet Moves
Game rules
This game can be played in a small group or as a class. You can offer this movement activity during a class moment in the classroom or as an offer while playing in the corners, possibly even as a gymnastics activity during gymnastics hour. Hang the ballet strips one below the other as a kind of meter or next to each other. You can also spread the large prints of the ballet movements or hang them up as posts in the gym. Have the children take turns rolling 2 large foam dice at the same time. They may choose whether to take the number of 1 die or the number by adding both. Look on the strips to see which movement fits that number. Go to that big picture post as quickly as possible or find the big picture. Practice this ballet pose together or alone for several minutes. Then we roll the dice again and so on. Try to practice all the moves!
